I spent an evening with this lovely family the other day, and here is the promised sneak peek,
First off, a very special member of the family, Winnie! Who can resist those eyes?!

Then, in order of appearance…

Now, admittedly, on first glance, you wouldn’t automatically guess they were siblings, but if you spend any time with them at all, it is really very noticeable!

And for the stars of the evening,

Happy Anniversary, folks!
Thank you for inviting me into your home and for letting me share this time with your family!

My princess.
I have been very naughty for neglecting my blog of late. Life seems to get in the way of things sometimes, right?
Easter passed before I noticed and only have the chocolate stains to show for it. Whatever you celebrate, I hope you avoided the chocolate coma. Happy belated Easter!

Everyone say, “Aaaaaaaahhh”. Talk about sweetcheeks. I had the privilege of spending a quiet hour with this angel and he was such a sweetheart. It’s been a very busy week and I am nearly nodding off in front of the computer as we were in Belfast today to attend Helen Bartlett’s very excellent seminar on children’s portraiture at Calumet. Helen was so enthusiastic and kept us rapt with attention for almost 6 whole hours! If you have a chance to attend one of her seminars, I highly recommend it.
I will love you and leave you with this short post but check in again soon!

If you live in Ireland and get RTE1, a local businesswoman will be featured on Nationwide this evening after the 6pm news. Monica Nuggent founder and owner of Little Comfort will be showcasing her wonderful range of environmentally friendly and sustainable reusable cloth nappies.
A few products from her range which I recently photographed for her:

Day Pack

Trial Pack

Newborn Range
Click on the link above and visit her website for more information on her great products.

Squee! Forgive the giddiness. I baked ALL afternoon. Total sugar high, which explains why I am up editing after midnight. I baked brown soda bread, a spotted dick, a low fat cheesecake and a full fat sugar laden chocolate cake. None of which I have eaten (only partly true) because I sent them up to the in laws for a dinner party tomorrow.
Now, I normally take a day or two after a shoot before I start processing photos so that I can look at them with a fresh eye but I couldn’t resist going through a few photos from today’s shoot with the Fahey’s. They were such a lovely family and so easy going. The girls were great and so full of energy! Thank you so much for a fun morning and I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. Here are a few for your sneak peek.

Look at those baby blues.

As you can see, it runs in the family!

Kisses from daddy.

Tickles!
Thanks again and check in again soon!

We were greeted with a blanket of white this morning which came as a bit of a shock as we thought we were very definitely moving into spring. Methinks we spoke too soon.
I love snow days, they are so beautiful if you discount the fact that the Irish in general aren’t very well prepared for snow because we don’t often get it. In fact, several local schools were closed today because the school buses weren’t running.
I especially enjoyed it though because I didn’t have to drive. Snow+me driving=disaster.
I would have liked to capture more snow scenes but real life got in the way. Next time.
Stay warm everyone!

So, I’m not committing to NaBloPoMo this month, cos no sooner will I say I will do it, then i won’t.
However, this must be a three day record for me!
I just couldn’t resist. I don’t know who was more excited over the new little mermaid costume. Me or the mermaid!

Coming home after a hard day’s fun.
Now, it’s a bit too early so i don’t have any St Patrick’s Day themed photos but I came across this today. The good people at Pix.ie are holding an awesome competition called the Pix.ie Party.
They say:
For the St Patrick’s Festival parade on March 17th, we’ve managed to get you something special too and we’re calling it the St Patrick’s Festival Pixie Party:
20 bloggers and photobloggers will be invited to watch the St Patrick’s Festival parade from a vetted viewing area. Each will be given an official wristband to gain access to this exclusive VIP area.
4 bloggers and photobloggers will be invited to watch the parade from the Festival Grandstand.
2 photobloggers will be invited to join the world media and take photos of the parade from the elevated position from the official open topped Media Bus which is positioned on the parade route.
2 Pixie users will chosen (subject to a security check) and given a Golden Pass which provides exclusive access to the parade route on the day. Only 12 Golden Passes will be issued this year to the international media and this is the first time photographers outside of the national and international media have been invited on into the parade route. This is HUGE.
This is definitely huge and would be an excellent opportunity for anybody! Spread the word!

Okay, so i’m a month late with the first day of Spring ( traditionally the 1st of February in Ireland, though the weather hasn’t caught up to that concept yet) but we had wonderful blue skies today and daffodils are making their appearance in roadsides all over the place.

The last two weekends have been work free so plenty of opportunity to get out with the family and make our own memories! We spent a lovely afternoon in Murvagh last week, which was only marred by the copious amounts of rubbish people left in the woods. I enjoy a party as much as the next person but the blatant disregard by some people of these beautiful resources saddens me.

So, public message aside, here are some family snaps from the last two weekends. My internet connection is still driving me batty so I haven’t been able to upload as much as i’d like to.

Still waiting for the blue skies.

Playing in the dunes.

A tire swing in the woods! Yay!
Today, we spent the afternoon at the Holmes’. It is still very cold but it was wonderful and brisk. And we got the blue skies we were waiting for!

No rain today, pussycat!

Blue all the way.
Thanks for stopping by!
